It's back, the 3rd Annual Tibetan Carpet Raffle. Buy a ticket and get a chance to win a 4'x6' handmade, child-labour-free, wool carpet. Tickets are $20 or 3 for $50--chances on winning are about 1 in 50 (errr, they're about 1 in 13 at the moment). If you buy a ticket, you will get a chance to go on a virtual shopping trip with me in Kathmandu--and I'll bring the carpet back for you. Second prize is a pashmina shawl in the exact colour of your choice (you just give me a paint chip and they'll make it to match)...Draw is to be held at a benefit party on November 17th, 2007.

We have partnered with the Himalayan Outreach Foundation and are now able to provide tax receipts for donations for the women's health projects we're organizing. They have applied for an operating grant and we will hear whether it has been awarded in December. The monies will allow us to launch clinic camps in the Kaski region, near Pokara, to train health workers and screen women for long-term health disabilities related to poor care in pregnancy and birth.
